Teaching is not a job but a ministry to each of us at Praise Academy. We are ministers of the Gospel to your children and to your family. Of course our priority is to offer your child an education as good or better than they could get anywhere else, but we temper that with the love of Jesus Christ. Psalm 32: 8 says "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you."
Over the years that I've been teaching it has always been my desire to teach as Jesus would teach. I've fallen short so many times but I keep getting up and trying again. This is what we want to instill in your children. As we teach the academics your child needs please pray that we also meet your child's spiritual growth needs as well. Our desire is to partner with you simply being an extension of what you desire to teach at home. In this crazy world we live in all our children need this reinforcement at school.

Seeking to develop critical thinking, reasoning, and analytical skills through a biblical worldview is my passion. I find such diversity, complexity, and wonder in creation, and I am consistently challenged to share that with my students.

At Praise Academy, I have the opportunity to teach science to middle schoolers. Through a structured, hands-on, interactive approach, I pursue excellence in developing not only a curiosity about the world in my students but an appreciation for our creator and His amazing love for us.

I am thrilled to be in the classroom again, and I get to teach my absolute favorite subject! Reading has been a passion of mine since I had to fill up a "boring" summer when I was 9 years old.

I have been married for 17 years to my college sweetheart. We met at Chick-fil-a, and then later in our classes at Union University. He is the youth pastor at First Baptist Powder Springs, and we have been in Georgia since December. (We are absolutely not used to the humidity yet!)

I have 3 beautiful, fun, and talented daughters. I have had the privileged of homeschooling them for about 6 years. They attended the classical Christian school where I taught in KY, and now one is attending school at Praise while I get to homeschool the other two.

I have previously taught in a University Model school and a Classical Christian School. Combined, I have 5 years of experience. I have taught all core subjects excluding math. I am currently a tutor for kid pass tutoring and homeschooling two of my girls.

I love teaching, getting to know students, and seeing their lightbulb moments. I am extremely intrigued by the way each individual student learns. God makes each one of us so incredibly unique and specific. I hope to leave imprints on my students' hearts showing them that they are loved, valued, and wanted. I also hope to pass on a spark for my love of reading to them as well.
